- Only Yellow Perch caught in Lake Erie can be entered during the “Wildwood Marina - Battle of Lake Erie Perch Tournament”.
- Shore or boat fishing is permitted.
- You must fish in Ohio Lake Erie Waters Only.
- Participants MUST purchase ticket before qualifying Yellow Perch for the Tournament. You may not fish first then purchase a ticket. Any participant not following this rule will immediately be disqualified.
- Participants may fish one day or both days of the tournament. Tournament times for both days are
7:00 A.M. – 6:00 P.M. Measuring times for both days are between 1:30 P.M. – 6:30 P.M. Any participant not at measuring line by 6:30 P.M. cut off time will result in disqualification. There are no exceptions to this rule.
- Measuring station is located at Wildwood Marina Bait Shop. Fishing contestants may briefly dock boats at courtesy docks for measuring and depart immediately. It is responsibility of contestants to arrive early and anticipate any delays. The use of public docks is encouraged. Contestant must possess entry ticket. Lost entry tickets will result in disqualification
- There are two divisions. Adult division, sixteen years of age and older, and youth division, under sixteen years of age.
Adult entry fee is $20.00 per person and youth entry fee is $10.00 per person. Cash only. Checks and credit cards not accepted. Each entry fee entitles contestant to participate on Saturday and Sunday. Cut off time to purchase a ticket is Sunday, June

2011 by 12:00 P.M. Sorry no exceptions. Each fisherman must have a separate entry fee permit.
- Adult Division – Contestant can enter up to Five (5) longest yellow
perch. Perch will be measured in millimeters to Determine winners.
- Youth Division – Contestant can enter up to Three (3) longest yellow
perch. Perch will be measured in millimeters to determine winners. All perch in youth division must be caught by youth entrant.
A parent/guardian must be present when youth entry ticket is purchased and
must sign entry ticket. Contestant may not purchase an entry ticket without a
parent/guardian present.
- Contestants with an entry ticket who caught yellow perch between
7:00 A.M. and 6:00 P.M. the day of tournament are qualified. Judges
may disqualify contestant if their perch appear to have been frozen
or not fresh. It is the responsibility of contestant to keep perch
fresh and in good condition. Ice or live wells are advised.
Intermingling perch with other contestants is strictly prohibited.
When fishing with others, please keep your fish separated. Contestants suspected of violating contest rules, including substitution of perch prior to tournament, suspected tampered perch
or intermingling perch with other contestants will be disqualified. Judges
have final determination and authority. All fish will remain with contestant after measuring.
- Again, contestant may fish Saturday or Sunday or both days. If fishing only one day, then the five
longest (for adults), three longest (for youth) perch caught shall be
entered. One measuring per contestant per day. If fishing both days, perch
may be substituted – up to five perch for adults and up to three for youths -
to replace smaller perch caught on Saturday, however only Five (5) longest
perch for adults and Three (3) longest perch for youths will be used to determine the winners.
- All Ohio Department Of Natural Resources and Watercraft rules apply.
- In the event of a tie, places will be combined and split evenly. Contestants need not be present to win. Winners will be contacted by phone.
- Each participant in the adult division must have a valid Ohio fishing license.
- The Tournament Committee reserves the right to add new rules and/or regulations to cover circumstances not covered in above rules. Committee’s decision is final as to interpretation or said rules. “Good Sportsmanship Rule Shall Prevail”
- Contestants are responsible for understanding all rules pertaining to “Battle of Lake Erie Perch Tournament”.
- Protests in Adult and Youth Division must be done in writing Fifteen (15) minutes of completion of measuring. Said Protest must be handed directly to tournament director. Any protest will be settled by the tournament committee.
- The tournament and its sponsors are not responsible for the conduct, personal injury, damages or negligence on the part of any participant. Participants enter this tournament at their own risk. Should weather advisories arise prior to either date, there will be no rain days scheduled. If for any reason rain or weather cancel one day, Saturday or Sunday, measurements from fishing day will be used to determine the winners. If Wildwood Marina determines that both days are cancelled due to weather, then contestants will be refunded at approximately 7:00 P.M. Sunday, June
5, 2011 at Wildwood Marina. This is the only time and location contestants will be refunded if both tournament days are cancelled due to weather conditions. Contestants must have their entry ticket to receive full refund. In event weather/storms/small craft advisories arise during event, contestants are responsible for returning to port safely. - This Tournament is held in strict compliance of the laws governing the State of Ohio.
- Alcoholic beverages are not permitted on park premise. Drunkenness in official areas will not be tolerated and will result in disqualification. All Laws shall pertain to this issue. Authorities will be notified.
- All boats and live-wells are subject to search before leaving dock.
- Prizes to be awarded will be Sunday after final results are tabulated.
- Winners are responsible to claim and pay any taxes due. Discovery Dive Charters & Tours, Inc., Underwater Research & Recovery, Inc., dba Wildwood Marina will not be held liable to claim any taxes on winnings.
- Waiver – By signing entry form I hereby release Wildwood Marina, State Of Ohio, ODNR-Division Of Parks And Recreation, City Of Cleveland, Discovery Dive Charters & Tours, Inc., Underwater Research & Recovery, Inc., any officers, agents, employees, sponsors, and committee members from any and all liability for personal injury, property damage, or wrongful death caused by negligence or otherwise. If I ignore this agreement and file a lawsuit and/or claim, I will be held responsible for all attorney fees and court costs incurred there in.
- Linda Mae and Express will be available for fishing charters during tournament both days.
All Charter Rules Apply As Normal.
- Times are 7:00 A.M.-1:00 P.M. AND 2:00 P.M.-6:00 P.M. You Must Purchase A Tournament Ticket Before boarding the boats to qualify in the Tournament. You May Not Fish First, Then Purchase A Ticket.
- Reservations are required. Arrive at marina 1 hour before departure time.
- Special Tournament Pricing Will Apply:
Six-Hour Trip is $37.00 for Adults and $30.00 For Youths.
Four-Hour Trip is $32.00 For Adults and $30.00 For Youths.
- Bait is not included but can be purchased at Wildwood Marina. Rods can be rented for charter boats at an additional cost. Bring minnow bucket, cooler for catch, and valid Ohio Fishing License. Snacks and soft drinks are available on board at additional cost.

Longest Yellow Perch
One winner in the adult division will win a $50.00 Gift Certificate

The tournament participant in the adult division with the longest one yellow perch will win a $50.00 Gift Certificate.
The tournament participant in the youth division with the longest one yellow perch will win a $25.00 Gift Certificate.
- Only one gift certificate will be awarded in the adult division and only one gift certificate will be awarded in the youth division. If there is a tie, a coin toss will determine the winner.
- The longest one yellow perch measured in millimeters will determine the winner.
- Adult Division – The participant may only measure five (5)
yellow perch per day and out of those five yellow perch entered, the
longest one perch will be considered to determine the winner of the
“Longest Yellow Perch”.
- Youth Division – The participant may only measure three (3)
yellow perch per day and out of those three yellow perch entered,
the longest one perch will be considered to determine the winner of the “Longest Yellow Perch”.
- Bait, tackle and fishing licenses available at Wildwood Marina.
- Plenty of parking and public boat launch available at Wildwood State Park.
